Southern Fried Green Tomatoes are a delicacy in the south, but so are the sweeter and lesser known Southern Fried Red Tomatoes. Crispy on the outside sweet and moist on the inside!

I've heard of fried red tomatoes but have never had them. Something to do with grocery store tomatoes.
I'll take about 6 with some buttermilk ranch
Hey, Wolfie! :-) Good to see you again and hope you're doing ok! Haven't heard of, or tried this recipe, so thanks once again for showing an older dog a newer trick! <lol> ;-) Thumbs up and hope you stay cool up there my friend! Norfolk Joe
Lord I LOVE Tomatoes! Those maters were beautiful & so red! I've done this before & they are so super good! They'd also be great on a burger! YUMO! Great video Wolfe & TFS :))
I feel the need to run home and check my tomato plants. Looks super good!
Nice lookin' maters, Larry. Bet they would go great on a BLT or even as a pizza topping. Thanks!
That looks crazy good. I really like your slicing knife :D Gimme gimme - what is it? :D
I have been craving the green one lately....need some local maters.
Larry, my Mom (long gone) loved fried green tomatoes but I never could take a liking to them. Too sour and bitter. But maybe we didn't have the right tomatoes. But then again, my mom also love raw ground beef...she would eat chunks of it with salt and pepper while preparing burgers or any other ground beef recipe. Everybody has their own taste! That was back in the"old days" when maybe people weren't so afraid of meat. Anyway, for the tomatoes, she would just add salt and pepper to the flour, dip the sliced green tomatoes into it and fry them in butter. Lots of butter. Or lard, if she had any left from rendering. Now that I'm (a lot) older I can enjoy a fried green tomato. But I would much rather have your fried RED tomatoes. We're having a drought here and my tomato plants are struggling. But, it they get anywhere close to the possibility of a fried RED tomato...I'm in! Thanks!
Looks great, thanks for the idea...
