Sausage Stroganoff is a budget-friendly main meal that is very easy to prepare. Sausages are browned and combined with onion, bacon, garlic, tomatoes and sour cream. Delicious on it’s own or served with rice or vegetables, this cheap but cheerful main will keep everyone happy – give it a go!

INGREDIENTS IN THIS DISH:

8 Sausages (or Skinless Hot Dogs)
2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
1 Brown Onion (chopped)
3 Slices of Bacon (chopped)
2 Cloves of Garlic (crushed)
500g of Mushrooms (sliced)
1 Teaspoon of Mild Paprika
1/4 Cup of Tomato Paste
1 Cup of Liquid Beef Stock
2 Tablespoons of Sour Cream (optional)

Preparation Time: About 10 minutes
Cooking Time: About 20 minutes

SERVES 4 – 6

ALL MEASUREMENTS GIVEN ARE AUSTRALIAN STANDARD METRIC

  • @lqntruong it's not hard to make a recipe healthier, for instance: use low fat sausages or leave then out altogether, & add loads more vegetables

  • I can't remember to be honest. I would have bought them from either Coles or the local butcher ;)
