Made this recipe today. They. Came. Out. Beautiful and delicious!! My dough wasn’t rolling out well so I rolled them out onto my hand and forearm and the dough became much easier to work with. My knots were not as beautifully knotted as yours but once they were naked they looked perfect! Easy. Delicious. Thank you Laura!
if anybody has trouble separating egg whites from the yolks, you may use an empty water bottle to suck out the yolk
Laura, I really think that you leave a lot of batter in the bowl or whatever you are working in...I LOVE you and your recipes but please scrape the bowl off well.. Just a suggestion.. I do know that you said in one of your Vlogs (TheVitales) that you hate to waste food so please don't.
2 things about flour:
Do you sift your flour?????
Why do you add your flour all in 1 go? Shouldn't you incorporate bit by bit????

Laura, do you find it helpful to sift the flower before using it?
Has anyone tried this with butter only?!!!I can't seem to find shortning at all!!!!
if you squeeze the lemon cut side to palm all the juices flow and the seeds stay inside
also if you roll the lemon on the counter before cutting it, it helps the juices flow more easily, that or putting it in the microwave for about 10secs :)
If the dough is too sticky knead until you do not leave anything stuck in his hands.
