HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE BROWNIES: Low calorie / low fat

Ingredients: (makes 12)

1 cup of plain flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup of unsweetened apple sauce
1 teaspoon bicarbonate soda
1/4 cup of cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/8 cup of low calorie sugar (I used natvia — a natural sweetener)
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1/4 of low fat milk
1 egg white
1 teaspoon of chocolate flavouring
1 teaspoon of mint flavouring
2-3 pieces of dark chocolate (grated)

Bake for 20 mins at 170 degrees celsius, 350 degrees fahrenheit

  • after all, each little piece would need about 15 minutes of running to burn it out of the body. not recommended for serious dieting.

  • "Diet" is not all about fasting in a few weeks or months. It is long-termed. Both diet (or healthy eating style) and dessert are not something that is all or nothing. You can still have treats when eating healthily and you can minimize the fat and sugar content when enjoying the treats. Maybe you will feel better if I reverse my statement; Yes this recipe doesn't make the cake a healthy food, but it makes the cake become less unhealthy. :)

  • "Diet" is more like a life style. I will be watching my weight probably in the rest of my life but I like dessert. What is the point of eating all those fat and calories if a healthier version still taste amazing?

  • i made mine with instant brownie mix and i substitute the oil with apple sauce....they amazing and of course....guilt free...
