Chilli Con Carne is a delicious, hearty meal that can be made with basic ingredients. Beef, onion, garlic, chilli and tomato passata are combined to create a rich meaty dish. Serve with rice, pasta or vegetables – give it a go!

RECIPE FACT SHEET

INGREDIENTS IN THIS DISH:

500g Beef Mince (Ground Beef)
1 Large Brown Onion (chopped)
1 Clove of Garlic (crushed)
1 Long Red Chilli (chopped, seeds removed)
700g Jar of Tomato Passata sauce (pureed tomatoes)
2 x 400g Cans of Red Kidney Beans (drained and rinsed)
1 Teaspoon of Ground Chilli Powder
Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper

Serve with Rice, Pasta, Vegetables or on it’s own!

Preparation Time: About 10 minutes
Cooking Time: About 20 minutes

SERVES 4 – 6

  • mate you forgot the dark chocolate at the end of the cooking .. gives is a nice taste

  • Yes, that would be fine. You could also put some seeded tomatoes in a blender and process them until smooth ;)

  • I've always made Chili Con Carne` on weekends when we'd have some chips , or eaten with rice sometimes as a soft mini taco filling with sour cream and sprinkled with chives or spring onions. :)

  • Come on, man. How is it misleading to eat and cook fresh? Chili con Carne, by the way, is interpreted, "Chili with MEAT" not beans. Beans are "frijoles". Also, different recipes for chili con carne call for different ingredients. This is his version, and you should accept that!
