Slow Cooker Cheese Stuffed Meatballs | One Pot Chef


Slow Cooker Cheese Stuffed Meatballs is a rich and delicious meal that is easy to make and perfect for sharing with a crowd. Beef and Pork are combined with herbs and spices, then formed into meatballs. A cube of smooth melting Mozzarella cheese is stuffed into each meatball, then slow cooked in the sauce of your choice – give it a go!




500g Beef Mince
500g Pork Mince
Salt and Pepper
1 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder
1 Cup of Fresh Breadcrumbs
1/4 Cup of Grated Parmesan Cheese
1/2 Cup of Freshly Chopped Parsley
1/2 Cup of Milk
2 Eggs
2 x 500g Jars of Pasta Sauce

Preparation Time: About 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 2.5 hours on HIGH setting


Note: I don’t recommend using the LOW setting for this recipe, as the meatballs can fall apart 😉

All measurements and temperatures are in Australian Metric.

    I some times wrap ham around the cheese, then form the meatball around that.  Definitely tasty.

    David, thank you. This looks so good! With all due credit to you, I'm going to try this with a couple of minor variations and serve it with a crisp green salad on the side. My idea for the sauce (a couple of extra steps but still super easy) would be to puree a quantity of fresh vine-ripened tomatoes in a blender, plop the puree right into the slow cooker (we call it a crockpot), toss in some diced green pepper (capsicum, I believe you call it in Australia), some fresh chopped white onion, add maybe a cup or two of water to account for reduction, all in order to create a nice 'bath' (LOL) for the meatballs. Use of the fresh pureed tomatoes I think would result in a very flavorful but light sauce that would have us dreaming of our now frozen summer gardens (smiles). As for the meatball mixture, I would try in lieu of the garlic powder a small packet of my favorite dried onion/herb soup or dip mix? Yet the recipe exactly as you've demonstrated it, using a favorite jarred pasta sauce whether tomato or cheese based, would no doubt be absolutely delicious. Now that it has turned very chilly here in Michigan, with a not-too-gentle winter coming on, this will be a comforting warm dish to have!     You read my mind! I'm researching meatballs now. How about a meatball recipe with pineapple with red and yellow bell peppers and without the tomato based sauce?? Nobody has shown me that, but I ate it last weekend at a public function. It was phenomenal!
