Slow Cooker Cheese and Bacon Potatoes | One Pot Chef



Slow Cooker Cheese and Bacon Potatoes is a fabulous crock pot side dish, perfect for serving with a wide variety of dishes. Baby Potatoes are combined with onion, garlic, bacon and cheese, then slow cooked until tender. Served warm, these delicious potatoes are guaranteed to keep everyone happy – Try it today 🙂

Ingredients:

10 Baby Potatoes (quartered)
1 Small Brown Onion (finely chopped)
4 Slices of Short Cut Bacon (diced)
1 Tablespoon of Mixed Dried Herbs (I used Italian Herb Mix)
2 Cloves of Garlic (crushed)
1 Cup of Grated Cheese (I used Cheddar)
2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper
1 Spring Onion (for garnish, sliced)

Preparation Time: About 15 minutes
Cooking Time: About 6 to 8 hours on AUTO setting (1hr on HIGH, then LOW for the rest of the cooking time)

    Such an innovative recipe for the slow cooker. I never would have thought of using my slow cooker like that, but I will now. Thank you OnePotChef 🙂 You have a new Australian fan! What if your slow cooker does not have an auto function though – can you use the "keep warm" function for the same result, or just instead put it for an hour on high then change to low?

    David, I've seen you speak of conversion charts for us pounds and ounces people but I can't find them. Where are they, please? I do the best I can trying to convert by myself. but weighing gets to be cumbersome for me. Thank you. These potatoes are super as are your baked donuts, cheese and herb damper, etc. etc. etc. Keep up the great recipes!!

    For us Canadians, what do you recommend as a substitute for Aussie bacon? We don't have that here. We have American style bacon and Canadian peameal bacon. And regular ham of course. How does Aussie bacon measure up to these options? I think American style bacon would be WAY too fatty for this recipe.
