you should try and freeze your fruits the night before, replacing the ice. as the ice will melt after sometime and dilute the smoothie! :-)

Fantastic smoothie, great tips. I do the flavors thing with drinks, because I don't drink nearly enough. Lemon, orange, any juice I have on hand I will mix a tiny bit in with my water. Also, with that I find getting a huge Mason jar or whatever (it's not hick, it's hipster) and setting a goal (I will drink these 16oz in 2 hours) also helps.

Never thought of having melon in my smoothie. I usually stick with a mixed berry & banana combination with either ice tea (for caffeine), protein powder & chia seeds.

This video comes complete with an optical illusion. At the end, if you look around the video a bit fast, black dots appear on Jamie's shirt. I thought that was trippy.

My smoothies just tend to have whatever fruit I have in – fresh, tinned or frozen! with a splash of orange or grapefruit juice

Smoothie as breakfast? That's something I've never heard of before…now I don't see why not. (I mean I am from Hong Kong and we normally have hot food for all 3 meals.)

My favorite breakfast smoothie recipe is:
    Kale
    Spinach (frozen)
    Mango
    Pinapple
    Banana
Vanilla quark (kesam) Its like a yoghurt-y cheese.
Matcha green tea (for an energy boost and lots of antioxidants)
    Orange juice
    Lemon juice

Tastes amazing!!! Gives you a lot of vitamins and iron (which is really important for girls…). C-vitamins also helps with the uptake of iron.

A good tip if you have bought  a fruit, like a big pineapple or mango etc, and can't be able to eat it before it turns too ripe, just cut it into small pieces and put it in the freezer so you have fruit for your smoothie.

If I were to do this a little in advance, say the night before, would it still remain good? Would it still be as tasty and nutricious? I have a small appartment and a roomate and I don't think he would enjoy hearing the song of a blender at 7 in the morning.

I drink a smoothie every morning because i can't eat sandwich and other solid food at morning time so here's my recipe
approximately 1-2dl of vanilla cream cheese
    8-10 large frozen strawberries
1 "redstraped" apple do not peel (not completely red or green striped with red)
    1 banana
    splash of milk
    a sprinkles of cinnamon
    *optional* 2 small chocolate wafers

    Mix well, serve

How about a banana, for the creamy aspect, in place of the full fat coconut cream? Or, in season, a juicy pear? If you want the shake to make you feel fuller, longer, then whirl a 1/4 cup of quick-cook oats in with the ingredients — not fattening and it's gluten-free!

breakfast smoothies are such a yummy and easy way to eat fruit! and you so don't need to add full fat milk or cream to a smoothie – greek yoghurt works just as well at thickening the consistency or even water/ice is fine. i like to add a banana to make the smoothie thicker if i'm just having water with mine.

personal favourite at the moment – kiwi, banana, frozen berries, ice and water for blending. nomnonom.

    My favorite smoothie is:
3 handfuls of raspberries (they're my favorite)
    A handful of frozen peaches
Lemon juice to taste (I usually put in about a tablespoon)
1/2-3/4 cup of almond milk (any milk works fine)
    and 3/4 cup Greek yogurt.
This is my daily pick me up! WARNING: It is tart, not sweet!

I personally don't think there's enough ingredients in there that will get you through your morning. I'd drink that smoothie and be hungry again in half an hour. Just fruit is not enough in my opinion.
