Yes another question from me! I can only find White wine vinegar here in Germany, is this OK? Is it different than normal distilled vinegar?

I'm sure Dr Karl would be able to explain the effect of the vinegar. Also an important tip. Always make sure you don't pierce the yolk when cracking the egg into the coffee cup cause it makes a mess as I found out the hard way.

Why do you need to spin the water before you put the egg into the water?

Interesting Idea. I use a deep pan and just place the egg in gently, works perfectly. Also you can do 4-6 at a time.

Gonna make Eggs Benedict tomorrow for the first time ever using you're strategy for poached eggs. Hope it goes well.

It's best to add the vinegar as it will help the egg "set" quickly when it hits the water, but it's not essential. If you're worried about the taste, you don't taste the vinegar in the poached egg 😉

    September 6, 2016 at 9:07 am
