    My Nonna makes these too! I think she might add cocoa powder to the dough for an overall chocolate flavor. It is NOT Christmas without them. The diamond shape makes them what they are! It makes me so happy seeing recipes like this shared with the world! Classic Italian 🙂

    Io ti amo e sto le ore davvero a guardare tutte le tue ricette, ma davvero fai i mustaccioli bianchi? qui da me in Puglia li facciamo al cacao con glassatura o al cioccolato nero o bianco!

    Hi laura I tried making these cookies and they came out really heavy and did not seem cooked in the middle what could I have done wrong? Please answer back cause I want to try making them again if I know what I did wrong thank you

    Quando ho sentito " come si chiama? " ho pensato… Laura non si smentisce mai!! Viva gli Italiani e la loro splendida cucina!! Scommetto che tu sei del sud, vedendo le ricette che prepari!! Io sono brianzolo invece ahaha, vicino Monza!! Se vieni in Italia dimmelo, sono un ragazzo con una sfrenata passione per la cucina e in particolare per la pasticceria!!

    Hi Laura, the mostaccioli that I grew up with, were more of a cacao base. Your dough is very pale in color.

    I love mostaccioli but I like to add some melted chocolate to the dough. So the mostaccioli are a bit softer and sweeter. Had those with chocolate in Maratea (Italy) and they were even better than the normal ones.
