Lamb and Caramelized Onion Pasta | One Pot Chef



Lamb and Caramelised Onion Penne is a delicious weekday main meal. Onion, carrot and freshly chopped rosemary are caramelised, then combined with lamb, tomatoes and stock. Served with penne pasta, this fabulous dish is easy to prepare, and guaranteed to be a hit with your family – give it a go!

INGREDIENT LIST:

500g Lamb Mince
1 Carrot (grated)
3 Brown Onions (sliced thinly)
2 Tablespoons of Freshly Chopped Rosemary (plus extra to garnish)
Olive Oil
3/4 Cup of Chicken Stock
1/2 Cup of Water
400g Can of Diced Tomatoes
100g of Ricotta Cheese
500g Penne Pasta
Salt and Pepper

All measurements and temperatures are in Australian Metric.

    From the few times I have had lamb meat, I cant say I love it.However if its YOU making it, I am sure its tasty!

    Watched a few of your videos and am wondering if you are trying to keep salt low.
    I.e., when you're adding the ground meats to the pot, you don't seem to be salting it. That is the only time that you'll be able to get that flavor into the meat.

    I just made this right now with ground pork instead of lamb. My grocery store didn't have ground lamb, but it was amazing!! Thank you so much Onepotchef!! I always look forward to your videos!! 😀

    I love this recipe , usualy I make sauces that are so complicated with a lot of ingredients.

    Hi David, this looks delicious! I have a question, would using another type of cheese work for this recipe? I don't find ricotta particularly appealing… But I was thinking substituting cream cheese or sour cream?
