Я делаю его каждый новый год. В самом пошлом его варианте – колбаса Докторская, огурцы солёные, горошек, картошка, морковка залитое маянезом.

This meal definitely is not from the Sovetsk town. This meal is from some district.

This was great fun, and you make a great salad. Whether this is a "real" Olivier salad or not, I want to make one. My Russian friends make this salad for the Holidays, I'll ask them how they make theirs. If it's this good I KNOW I'm going to love it. Thanks for posting.

It looks nice and delicious, im gonna give it a try, but its not an oliver salad. The traditional recipe is:
    1. boiled potatos with skin on (pealed when done) 2. boiled carrots, with skin on (pealed) 3. Hard boiled eggs 4. Pickeled gerkins 5. Canned peas 6. Ham or chicken 7. Onion (optional) 8. Mayo
    9. Solt and black pepper for taste.
Everything cutted in small cubes and well mixed.
Try it, hope you are going to like it and probably make a video, because i like watching them. Good luck…

I used the one in spring water but did not add olive oil.
You certainly can add a little olive oil if you want.
You know what they say…In for a penny, in for a pound!

Also, if we can not find Tuna in Olive Oil, can we not just get the ones in water, then drain and mix in olive oil ourselves? Or does the olive oil kind of flavour the tuna over time in the can?

    Funny comment!
I will have to be careful when I go to Russia then, as I wouldn’t want to be swallowed by an Oliver!

I often do buy the fresh green one and you are right they are readily available. The ones in the jars I only found recently in one supermarket. I can’t understand why they are so difficult to get here
