You kept saying hot pot then mentioned stew. So hot pot is something different than say making a beef stew? Either way it looked delicious!

i would have caramalized the oinons and browned the meat more with a pich of flour in the pan then added loads of veg and continue to dump evrything in and ps a oxo cube would not hurt in this

Oh yum! I This looks so comforting. I have been given some venison from my neighbor who goes hunting and I think I will use some of it for this recipe.Ihave very little cupboard space & tossing up between buying a slow cooker & pressure cooker. Do you have any thoughts on that David? Hubby is on my back for what to buy me for xmas. We both love kitchenailia. Thanks for this lovely recipe 🙂 Apologies too, as I should have asked this for your coffee time series.

I thought the 'juice' from meat after it rests is moisture and should be discarded???????

    December 23, 2016 at 1:46 pm

That looks delicious! In the U.K. meat hot pots tend to have a layer of fairly thinly sliced or scolloped potatoes on top ( particularly if cooked in the oven ) but I guess that takes longer.
