    laura, you did not eat that or did you? ive watched almost all of your vids and you show us eating what youve made.. but this devil's food cake, somehow you did not eat it. is it because its too heavy and extremely sweet for you? Id love to hear your response :)

    WILL NOT BE MAKING THIS AGAIN. I made this yesterday and it was just okay. The cake was not that moist and the frosting was liquidy after leaving it in the fridge overnight and then in the freezer for two hours. Complete fail on the cream. The cake was tasty, but I've had and I've made much better. The frosting was absolute torture. I ended up just putting it all over the cake and drizzling it on top of each serving. (I live in Northern Italy and I made it for mother's day. My Italian mother-in-law liked it, but I've made her better chocolate cakes.

    I don't know if it's me but I think the ganache is too little when I made it. I halved your recipe and divided the batter in 2, baked it on a 7 inch tin and when it's done I halved the cake again to get 4 layers. so i covered it in the ganache but it was too little. I will make another batch tomorrow. your cake is much bigger and you could fit it perfectly in the ganache!
