@MrsNailArtFan A regular brown onion will work fine πŸ˜‰

when you say we can replace Leek with an onion, you mean the common onion or the fresh (green) onion?

Just a recommendation.. I served this in a large bowl (kinda like you would serve a stew) then cut off a piece of chicken and dipped it in the liquid before I ate it. It tasted really really yummy that way and was really juicy (especially for breast meat which is usually drier).

I noticed your UMM! at 2:23 isn't nothing like your other dishes. I personally have to have a cream gravy or ranch dressing on my chicken for flavor. No matter how I cook it, chicken always has a dry taste, unless it's dark meat. Thanks for the healthy dish though. πŸ™‚

I have a question? Why did you not put a brown color on the chicken? Does this make the chicken over cooked?

Greetings opc. i wish that you had allowed the chicken to brown a little more. I did not find the color of the chicken appealing. however i loved the recipe.

Great recipe. If that is an enameled cast iron vessel, that's one of the best pots to have in your kitchen. They are worth their weight in gold ( and they are heavy). We call them Dutch Ovens here in the States. They can be used for boiling, frying, browning and slow cooking and will last a lifetime. Well worth the investment. Thanks David.

@glassanddiaphane Absolutely, follow the recipe as above using a fry pan. Transfer everything into the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 5 – 6 hours or until the chicken is fully cooked and the vegetables are tender πŸ˜‰

Doesn't the chicken (protein) toughen up with all that long time cooking?
