If I use this recipe but instead make individual small pies do I need to cook the filling first?
OnePotChefShow
May 26, 2016 at 7:20 pm
Conventional. Reduce the temperature slightly if using fan forced 😉

I am not a massive fan of pastry, so could I use pasta or something? This looks great though.

I made this 2 days ago (I used cream of chicken as my fiance won't eat anything mushroomy) but it was possibly the tastiest pot pie I've ever had! I'm relatively new to cooking but this was so easy to follow it turned out amazingly. Keep doin' what you're doing! It helps those of us not so naturally talented in the kitchen gain confidence! 😀

Dear One Pot Chef,
Would it be possible to replace the Mushroom Soup with Béchamel sauce with mushroom and crushed garlic?? as I'm currently living in Brazil and tinned soups are unobtainable.
P.S. Thanks for the excellent vidoes, you've inspired me to cook as before cooking seemed such a daunting task.

Ooooh I am definitely making this for my boyfriend. He had never heard of chicken pie and thought it sounded icky when I mentioned it to him– let's see if he doesn't like this! Thank you, chef!!

It's quicker, easier and cheap to use a can of soup, than to make a batch of soup from scratch. Especially when I'm only using it for the base of another recipe 😉

Why do you always use a tinned cream of mushrooms and not make it yourself? just curious, is it to save time or….?

Use a different soup if you like, Cream of Chicken soup etc

I would recommend added some corn starch to the chicken veggie mix so thicken up the sauce.

A combination of both – some are old family recipes, others I made up myself and some are inspired by recipes I have found in old cookbooks etc

Love you and your videos so much! Do you get your recipes from somewhere specific, or do you make them up? Or is it a combination of both?
